Cookie Policy
WoWMatch uses cookies and equivalent local-storage entries for two purposes: keeping you signed in, and — only if you opt in — measuring how the product is used so we can improve it.
Strictly necessary
These cookies and storage entries are always on because the site cannot function without them. They include the NextAuth session cookie that keeps you signed in, the matching CSRF token that protects forms and server actions, and a small consent record stored in localStorage so we do not show this banner again after you have made a choice.
Functional
Functional storage remembers product preferences — discovery filters you have applied, the last tab you opened in Settings, and similar local UI state. Turning these off will not break WoWMatch, it will simply reset preferences each time you visit. Functional storage is opt-in and disabled by default.
Analytics
If you opt in we use PostHog to record anonymized product analytics — page views, feature usage, and aggregated funnel metrics. We do not record keystrokes, message contents, or any other personally identifying input. Analytics is opt-in and is off until you click "Accept all" in the consent banner or enable it in "Manage".
No third-party advertising
We do not run third-party advertising and we do not embed advertising trackers, social pixels, or fingerprinting scripts. The only third-party network requests on a typical page load are to our own infrastructure and to the Blizzard / Raider.IO APIs when we render character data.
Managing or withdrawing consent
You can revisit your choices at any time. The cookie banner reappears when you clear site data; you can also clear thecookie-consententry from your browser's developer tools to force the banner. Browser-level cookie controls (Settings → Privacy in most browsers) override anything we do.
